Russ Dalbey
The Russ Dalbey real estate approach to make money is in note purchasing and selling.
Russ Dalbey, America's Note Network (ANN) and Note Network are all one and the same.
This may be an appealing way for some of you as it does not involve the purchase of property, or the many things you have to deal with relating to owning "non residence" type "income" property which most of us see as the usual way to make money in real estate.
The basic premise Russ Dalbey teaches is you locate a privately held mortgage or note, and then find an interested buyer to sell the mortgage/note to, which you do at a profit.
This has the potential to make good money, but you also need to spend a lot of time locating the available notes, and then the potential buyers. I guess if you like that kind of business transaction, Russ Dalbey and his information may be for you.
Personally I find the Russ Dalbey methods to be for only certain business personality types, and also see a need to be quite knowledgeable in making such deals which at least initially may come in your trial and error. The Russ Dalbey "3 step program" is intended to guide you through this to minimize your difficulties, however any new business typically is never as easy as it is proclaimed.
I feel there are simpler ways, even in reals estate to get started making money, and the Russ Dalbey may be something to go after once you have the basics of the real estate business understood.

A few days ago, I deleted the six social networking communities I had created on Ning.com because I was given 24 hours to comply with their advertising terms or have my account canceled. If I'd had more time, I would have saved as much as I could from those sites before deleting them. Today, I was thinking about how to download a backup of the communities and didn't find a way. I wonder if it is possible. In fact, it turns out that a network creator can backup the contents of their community, but it's not particularly easy or fast. It is easier to download a list of members and their email addresses. I am testing a Mac OS X program called SiteSucker that I have used successfully to back up other sites. I tried it on a Ning community, but it didn't work. Maybe with more tweaking of the settings I could get it to work, but it doesn't look promising. So, I'm past the point of being able to download existing community content, because it has been deleted for a few days. This morning, while sipping my first cup of coffee, it occurred to me that I could probably retrieve some of my blog posts and forum discussion entries if they were still available in Google's cache. I did a quick search and it looked like I could retrieve at least a few of the things I wrote over the last six months. Some I already had backups of before posting, but others would be lost when the cache was cleared. Not all of them are jewels of clear thinking, but I wanted a copy in case I could repurpose them at some point. After several tries, I created a Google search string that found most of what I'd written, but eliminated a lot of pages that only linked to the articles with a brief summary of the item. Since the communities were already deleted, those links had no usefulness. Here's the query I used, replacing the community's subdomain for each of the six I created: site:squidoomarketing.ning.com +"john dilbeck" -"all photos" -"all discussions" -"latest photos" -"all posts tagged" That should all be on one line and it tells Google to show the results for the Squidoo Marketing community on Ning.com that contains the phrase "John Dilbeck" but eliminates the summary pages for all photos, all discussions, latest photos, and all posts tagged with keywords and phrases. There were still irrelevant pages listed in the results, and none of the things I'd written in the last month or so were returned, but I was able to recover a few dozen items I'd written that I'll use in other ways, such as lenses, my A Year From Now Forum, and maybe a website or two. All I did was click the word "Cached" at the bottom of the search result summary for each page and opened it in a new tab. When it completed loading, I saved the page as an HTML file in a directory I created on my harddrive for that community. It took only about two hours to grab as much as I could, and now I have it safely stored for future use. Lessons learned Don't start a website, blog, forum, community, or anything else unless you're going to take the time to back it up now and then. This can take significant time for those of us still on slow dial-up access. Don't start sites you can't afford to keep running. Read the terms of service very carefully before using a third-party site. Have a way to communicate with all the members of the site outside of the site's built-in communications system. At the very least, have a list of the members' email addresses. When the site is hacked, destroyed, canceled, or otherwise lost, don't forget Google's cache. You may be able to recover at least part of what you had. Act on your dream! JD
"Wouldn’t it be great if at your next job interview when they ask you to say something about yourself you could mention that you are not psychopathic. And it's been officially confirmed by a three-legged cat." I truly don't remember when it would have been useful to be able to claim that I am not psychpathic, but you never know what may come up in the future. Are you psychopathic? Try my simple psychopath test I laughed while reading this, and it was early in the morning while I was still sipping my first cup of coffee. Be sure to read the psychopath test score guide to learn your diagnosis. Thanks Otis and Bruce for a humorous start to my day. Act on your dream! JD

I've been a member of Ryze.com for several years and it used to be my primary social networking site. I tried for three years to build a network for people who live in the mountain region of western North Carolina, but it never gained traction and growth. I closed that network on Saturday. Today, I opened a new network that should have more appeal. It certainly has a much larger geographical region for members - the whole planet. You can read the network without joining, but you must be a Ryze member and a member of the network in order to post. If you're interested in talking about how you use the top social networking sites, come and join us at the brand new Social Networking Sites for Business community. Act on your dream! JD
