Myspace
Myspace is an online community
that lets you meet your friends' friends. Myspace or myspace.com is a
website that is growing extremely fast. I first was aware of myspace
through my children, who had their own myspace profiles. I even opened
my own account (free) so I could see what all the excitement was about!
Myspace offers anyone the ability to sign up, open
an account and post information about themselves, their band, their
friends, all to basically socialize with friends or friends of friends.
It really is a neat concept and is growing in leaps and bounds. A great
marketing theme where the focus is "people". You can find all kinds of
neat things on myspace including pics, videos, audios of peoples bands,
games, surveys.
Recently I received some ads to my myspace e-mail
inbox that were intrieguing and being the eternal marketer that I am, I
investigated. The ad was selling an ebook that taught you how to make
money on myspace! WOW, what an idea.
Can you make money with myspace? Well, according
to myspace policy information there are certain things you cannot do
which include: "advertising to, or solicitation of, any Member to buy
or sell any products or services through the MySpace Services. You may
not transmit any chain letters or junk email to other Members. It is
also a violation of these rules to use any information obtained from
the MySpace Services in order to contact, advertise to, solicit, or
sell to any Member without their prior explicit consent."
That being said, I did receive an unsolicited
e-mail selling me on an ebook which shows you how to send ads (using
bot software) to many members of myspace, thus creating sales. My
thought is myspace is not policing this aggressively as I get numerous
ads a day. On the other hand, it is not allowed, so in short, this kind
of money making scheme is not proper.
The ebook I am referring to was explicitely geared
to making money on myspace. According to the ebook, Myspace has 150
million plus sign ups, and 60 million active users as of August of
2006, so this forum is a huge marketplace where you could possibly
market your goods. You can even target niche groups within the myspace
"family".
The myspace home page offers an advertising link
and at this time I am awaiting information on what advertising is
actually approved by myspace. Advertising that is acceptable by myspace
policies is ok, the other "spam" type of advetising isn't from my
review of their site information.
The point of this review is actually the idea of
locating marketplaces and applying your advertising skills to generate
sales. The ebook I purchased was targeted to myspace members, and the
ad offered a "how to make several hundred dollars a day with myspace,
selling this ebook program." Pretty cool concept, but we don't
recommend anything that is not approved by the market place (in this
case myspace). It is possible this ebook was approved by myspace, however
we don't think that is the case.
You can appy this thinking to many other places to
market your goods. Finding the right niche product, and then a target
market equals success!
Myspace offers a great opportunity to network and
market as long as they approve. We suspect myspace will continue to
grow in size and soon become one of the largest groups of potential
consumers. We are sure there is money to be made within this group.

reviewing hundreds of different business opportunities and money making
