Infomercial Scams
When we started this website we decided to not
focus on the negative. Infomercial Scams sounds quite negative, don't
you think? Just the word "scams" probably caught your attention. Read
on.
No doubt many of you in your search of a true and
honest business opportunity have watched those late night
Informercials, and we are sure you thought to yourself, is this just
another of those Informercial Scams or pyramid schemes?
If you are like we were, you had to think to
yourself, do they really think I will fall for this corny, almost
obviously rehearsed, bunch of bologna? We wanted to use another word
there but need to uphold the integrity of our website and business!
Anyway, you can be sure that there are many
Informercial Scams. They aren't only on late night TV anymore either.
Seems to us there are some channels that are always pushing a new hyped
up product or business.
There are also some advertisements that are not a
scam. How can you be sure if one of these informercials is a scam or
not? Let's see if we can offer you some help to not become another
victim of one of those Informercial Scams.
Usually these Informercial scams direct you to a
toll free number or website. First step, if you can't talk to a real
person and the contact information on their website doesn't have a real
address, but just a PO box, you should start to be suspicious.
Next, if you do talk to a live person (meaning
someone answers the phone call), if they sound like they are "selling"
you, they probably are. Go with your gut! If they try to lure you to
take action and you don't have enough information to make a decision,
tell them that, and if they are legitimate, they will allow you to take
your time and make your own educated decision.
Remember always, if it sounds too good to be true,
it probably is. You should also remember to ask specific questions on
what your expected sales will be. Ask how do they know that you will
make a certain number of sales for every "hit" to your website. Ask
them what their conversion rate is, and have them prove it. Ask them
how you will market the product or service, and how will they assist
you and for how long?
We aren't saying anything that you probably
haven't thought your self here. We all tend to get caught up in the
hype and excotement when we think we found something that is not in
this case one of many of those Informercial Scams. You just need to
keep your mind clear and not let the emotions fog up your good business
sense. If you feel like you are being pressured, walk away. You can
always come back.
