What do you think about tip jars on websites?
Last month, one of my friends who is a very active Squidoo lensmaster asked me if I had a tip jar on any of my sites. She wanted to thank me for the help I’ve been providing and wanted to send some business my way. The problem was, she wasn’t ready to be a customer for the products I promote as an affiliate marketer and wanted a more direct way to show her appreciation. I told her that wasn’t necessary and that I enjoyed offering whatever help and ideas that I can. About two weeks ago, more or less, someone else I’ve known for awhile asked me the same question. I’m still surprised and really didn’t know how to respond. I like a few extra dollars as much as anyone, but I’m unsure about tip jars on websites. What do you think? Is this an easy and valid way to show appreciation, or does it look like begging? Please come over to my new primary blog and tell us your opinion: What do you think about tip jars on websites? Act on your dream! JD

SFI Store Opening Date Announced
SFI Marketing Group announced in early December 2008 that the new SFI store will open on Monday, January 5, 2009. Learn more about the new SFI Marketing Group Store. Buy what you want and sell what you don't. As with all sites that will be as complicated as this new SFI store, there will be some initial bugs that have to be ironed out and it may take some time to bring all the features up to speed. This has the potential to make a large difference in the commission checks of SFI affiliates who promote the store actively. If you have any thoughts or comments about this new store or SFI in general, please post them on this blog post: SFI announces opening date for new store. I'm interested in hearing what you think of the new developments and changes for SFI in 2009. Act on your dream! JD

In Memory of Mattie Lee Dilbeck
Today, instead of talking about business or marketing, I'm going to tell you a brief story about a woman I admired a great deal, my Mom. After fighting against a long illness, Mom died on Friday, November 21, 2008. I wrote a little about her this morning: In Memory of Mattie Lee Dilbeck. I'm going to miss her.

Do you want an Aweber subscribe form on your Squidoo lens?
In a previous post on another of my blogs, I wrote about adding subscribe forms on our Squidoo lenses: Squidoo module request - Sign-up forms for Aweber mailing lists Last week, Lewis Smile added a comment to the post and told me my dream was answered. Today, I finally found enough time to see what he was talking about. You can read more on my 21st Century Affiliate Marketing blog about how I followed Lewis' method to add a live Aweber mailing list subscribe form on one of my Squidoo lenses: How to add an Aweber subscribe form to your Squidoo lens.
