Internet Scams
The truth about internet scams can be found here! I am living proof that there are scams on the net and I am here to help you avoid the same mistakes I made, not to mention loss of your hard earned cash!
Internet Scams have been around for a long time, with the internet offering another vehicle for con artists and frauds to prey on you.
There are many signs of a scam. I will offer you some proven methods to flush these out and keep you ahead of these scammers.
The first sign of an internet scam is no phone number on the website for you to call and ask questions of a company rep. Voice mail is typical so leave a messaage if you do call, and be sure to ask some of these important questions: How long have you been in business? What is your refund policy? Where are you located and can I drive by to see your facility? Can I have a few references so I can contact past customers? What can you tell me about your products?
A final check is if the site lists a physical address. Only e-mail addressess, contact forms to fill out, or PO boxes are signs of someone having somthing to hide.
You can also go to www.deja.com where you can check with Google groups and see if there are any complaints about the company, or persons running the company. Keep in mind everyone likes to complain and any business start up is a lot up to the individual involved to make it a success, so take the info with this in mind.
THe BBB might be another place to check. However, as I found out and was surprised, the BBB isn't all it is cracked up to be. They too have complaints against them. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is the only place I would "trust" at this time for good info on a suspect business.
You can also go to a website like mine where I review businesses all day and post honest comments from YOU, the internet consumer.
A final note: be sure to only deal with companies that offer a minimum 30 day money back guarantee.
I hope this was helpful. Please let me know and also pass along any of your experiences good and bad with ANY company out there. Together we can help others like you locate and start up real honest business you can run from home.
